Funny, I hear all the time that “I’m not making gains in the gym because I am over training”..
I don’t see anyone who over trains.
Yes the occasional Olympic athlete or maybe coolie laborers who built the rail roads but that’s about it.
Under recovered from not sleeping enough or under nourished yes, but over trained…naaahhh… not even close.
I will sometimes train 3 weeks in a row without a day off. Sometimes doing 45 minutes of cardio in the morning and my weight training a few hours later.
Do I get run down sometimes.
Am I over trained, even now that I’m in my mid 50’s.
Not a chance.
I get run down if I don’t get enough sleep or don’t nourish my body properly.
The next time you think you are over trained, go grab a high protein meal and take a nap.
Then get your butt back in the gym.
